I just wanted to share something I learned about travel in South America. South American Explorers is a great place for solo travelers in Buenos Aires, Quito, Lima and Cusco to find friendship and information. I wrote about it on my blog, boldlygosolo.com:
Here's the link to that specific entry: http://boldlygosolo.typepad.com/boldly_go_solo/2008/01/darn-you-missed.html
There are plenty of other tips on solo travel on the blog. Enjoy.

Thanks for recomend Perú, you know, there is a lot to learn from a diferent country when you go for a visit, and in a funny way to practice espanish, you could download by free this cultural magazine: http://www.onetooneperu.org/Revista-virtual.html is multilanguage and you could learn about festivities, art and artist, and about the society.
